The difference between being Nice and being Kind

The difference between being Nice and being Kind

One of my female friends was telling me the other day how kind her newfound boyfriend was,

She was full of emotions and beaming with excitement as she share the story with me.

The guy took her to one of the most expensive eateries in town, bought her fine clothes, and blah blah blah.

This girl have an exam the day they went out, his kind guy paid somebody to help her out because he need to be with her that day.

I told her his guy was only nice not kind.

niceness involves doing something that is pleasing or agreeable, taking the girl out is pleasing to her but not helpful. By contrast, kindness is doing something that is helpful to others, or that comes from a place of benevolence.

Asking you to leave your exam in other to spend money on you is not kindness,

Being nice is a result of social conditioning and expectations of how we should act. In many ways, these unofficial rules are a good thing, leading us to be polite and helping us avoid conflict. Yet too often, niceness is prioritized over true kindness — which can be damaging and destructive.

For instance, a nice person may tell a neighbor that they are sorry that they are sick — while a kind person will make effort to make sure the neighbor gets better by buying drugs of getting them food.

Being kind doesn't always mean being nice, the boy friend of my friend might compel her to sit for her exam instead of taking her out, he might even add some pressure to make her sit for the exam.

She might consider who compels her to sit for her exam harsh and another guy who takes her out nice.

Don't just do what is pleasing to people, do what is helpful.

If you want people to respect you as a man,

If you want people to respect you as a man,

read this:

1. Be relentlessly proactive.

Don’t always wait for direction from others.

Use your own skills and resources to start getting things done and solve problems.

Get in the habit of figuring things out for yourself. Don’t be afraid of a challenge, that doesn't mean you won't seek for help but let it not become a habit.

2. Keep your promises.

This is by far one of the most important actions you can take to start gaining respect.

Always honor commitments and promises.

If you find yourself having a lot of trouble with that, it means you make too many promises you can’t keep. Instead of promising without fulfilling them, don't promise.

3. Stop being too nice.

Distinguish kindness from always having to do things for people.

There is a difference between being nice and being kind, know the difference and know peace

Trying to make everyone happy won’t get you very far. Being a pushover is highly undesirable if your goal is to be respectable.

4. Practice humility.

You’re not always going to be right, and you’re not the best at everything. Every person you meet can teach you something.

Confidence doesn’t come from a place where you’re the best.

5. Have a moral code.

Many overlook this important little piece of advice.

What do you believe in?

What’s important to you?

What do you want to change the world?

These kinds of questions will get you to the core of your own personal moral code.

• Be disciplined

• Be self-confident

• Build strong habits

• Chase goals, not women

6. Control your emotions.

Make sure to curb your instant reactions to things that make you highly emotional—whether it is good or bad.

Good leaders and well-respected people know the difference between responding and reacting.

7. Care about others.

Start caring about others. Pay attention to your surroundings and the people in your life.

It shows that you don’t only focus on yourself, and that you have the emotional capability to pay attention and give help when needed.

Make all the men around you read this post.

Top 5 step lesson learned from book -Your Next Five Moves

Top 5 step lesson learned from book -Your Next Five Moves

Move #1 — Master knowing yourself.

Knowing yourself is rarely talked about in business circles, but it's impossible to think ahead without self-awareness. Once you definitively decide who you want to be, which direction to take will become much more clear, as well as why it matters.

Move #2 — Master the ability to reason.

How to process issues, and having a methodology for making decisions are important. No decision is ever black-and-white, and if you can learn to see all the shades of gray, that will help you move forward decisively, even in the face of uncertainty.

Move #3 — Master building the right team.

To build the right team around you, it's vital that you get to understand others. If you help people find the best in themselves, you can build a team that will help you grow. Ask questions, challenge your people to understand themselves, and build trust in your team.

Move #4 — Master strategy to scale.

Ideally, you want to spark exponential growth. Learn how to raise capital, invest in rapid growth, and create systems which will allow you to gain and maintain momentum. Tracking and constantly measuring the key parts of your business model is required.

Move #5 — Master making power plays. Everyone wants to beat the Goliath in your industry, and if you do that it will be great for your reputation and future operations. Learn how to control your narrative and leverage social media productively to frame your story. Always keep thinking five moves ahead.

1. Don’t delay

Thinking about running that marathon? Register today. Eager to pursue that degree? Start preparing your application.

The first step to doing anything worthwhile is beginning. And while it can be quite challenging to make that initial leap, you won't get anywhere without kicking off the process.

2. Prioritize what matters to you – not others

You’ll never feel fulfilled if you live trying to meet someone else’s expectations. Instead, channel your effort and energy toward what matters to you.

That may be your family, travel, or reading a good book regularly. Only you can determine what’s most important to your happiness and sense of purpose in life.

Spend time around people encouraging positive self-talk and making you feel good about yourself.

3. Don’t sweat the small stuff

Unexpected events will undoubtedly arise as you go through life. You’ll make errors and embarrass yourself. That’s okay. Learn from your mistakes and setbacks, and be grateful for your progress.

4. Accept help from others

Your pride can hold you back from accepting praise and evolving. Try to work against this and accept help rather than denying it.

There’s no need to travel the road to find your best self alone. BetterUp coaches are here to help keep you accountable and provide the perspective you need to carry on when the going gets tough.

5. Take a break from social media

Platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and even Linkedin are deeply embedded in our lives. But even as social media keeps us connected and informed, it can lead to comparison and self-doubt.

If scrolling your feeds leaves you feeling down, and not uplifted, try to establish boundaries. And if you feel inadequate as you browse social media, remember people tend to post their highlights, not low moments.

6. Celebrate small victories

The little things matter.

Celebrating even small wins will motivate you to keep going until you reach your final goal. If you’re focusing on one big goal, try splitting it into steps so that you’re seeing progress. Don’t forget to reward yourself as you hit benchmarks and milestones!

7. Exercise daily

Exercise brings a wealth of positive effects to your everyday life:

According to a study from 2017, exercise creates better blood flow to the hippocampus region of your brain, a region crucial for your memory. This translates into better working memory and focus. You’ll be more productive and efficient.

• Physical activity also clears your mind and delivers oxygen to your tissues that helps your organs work more efficiently, giving you more physical energy.

• And, of course, exercise makes a big difference to your long-term health, helping prevent chronic health conditions such as type diabetes and high blood pressure, according to the Mayo Clinic. Your best self is a healthy self.

8. Speak up for yourself

Your opinion is important. Stand up and speak up. It may be nerve-wracking, but the more you practice, the more confident you’ll feel.

9. Embrace failure

In order to experience growth,

you’ll need to get out of your comfort zone.

Without risks, you’ll never develop new skills, discover new interests and passions, or experience personal growth.

Failure can be the best teacher if you take the time to reflect and do the work to learn from it.

10. Stop looking for short-cuts

These don’t exist when it comes to self-improvement. It takes patience and hard work, Period.

3 extra tips to be the best version of yourself

As you strive toward authenticity and being the best possible version of yourself, it’s wise to remember the following:

1. Your values

Whether it’s family, trust, loyalty, hard work, or kindness, what you value is at the core of what defines you. Your personal values define how you view the world and others in it.

2. Your strengths

Everyone has hard and soft skills and can accomplish a ton. Focus on developing your strengths – these will help you overcome hurdles.

3. The importance of self-compassion

You may feel like traveling in a completely different direction than others, especially if you’re not where you want to be. Take a moment to appreciate what your mind and body do for you. You’ll get there.

1. More Is Not Better✅

Happiness is not about experiencing more of something.

It's about experiencing what you love in new and interesting ways.

2. Embrace Fear✅

You assume happiness is good, and fear is bad.

Fear is an indicator that you're doing something worthwhile.

Change your story around fear. Bad feelings are not always bad.

3. Seek New Experiences✅

It's difficult to change your beliefs through thought alone.

Seek new and novel experiences that make new beliefs real to you.

4. Problems Are Pathways✅

You view problems as roadblocks to your success. Truth is, they're pathways.

"What stands in the way becomes the way."

- Marcus Aurelius

5. Your Past Does Not Define You✅

We believe the past is set in stone, but in reality, your perception of the past changes as you do.

Change your future, change your past.

6. Tame Your Mind✅

An untamed mind is a minefield.

Impulsive sub-conscious thinking is disastrous in the long term.

Learn to let your conscious mind make decisions.

7. Avoid Fear with Routines✅

Habits and routine turn off your "fight or flight system" by making the unknown known.

This is why people with strong, healthy habits experience so much joy.

8. Emotional Intelligence✅

You can't control your emotions, but you can control your reaction to them.

Gain control of your life by being aware of your emotions.

9. Choose Your Thoughts✅

Recognize that social conditioning forms your thoughts. Reflect on your beliefs to figure out if they're your own.

Let go of any thoughts that no longer serve you.

10. Validate Feelings, Not Idea's✅

Build stronger relationships by validating their feelings.

Everyone's feelings deserve to be felt, seen, and respected.

HOW TO RESPECT YOURSELF

 HOW TO RESPECT YOURSELF

(1) Stop looking for who is not looking for you.

(2) Stop begging.

(3) Stop saying more than is necessary.

(4) When people disrespect you, confront them immediately.

(5) Don't eat other people's food more than they eat yours.

(6) Reduce how you visit some people, especially if they don't reciprocate it.

(7) Invest in yourself. Make yourself happy.

(8) Stop entertaining gossip about other people.

(9) Think before you talk. 80% of how people value you is what comes out of your mouth.

(10) Always look your best. Dress the way you should be addressed.

(11) Be an achiever. Get busy with your goals.

(12) Respect your time.

(13) Don't stay in a relationship where you don't feel respected and valued. Walk away.

(14) Learn to spend money on yourself. That's how people will learn to spend on you.

(15) Be scarce sometimes.

(16) Be a giver more than a receiver.

(17) Don't go where you are not invited. And when invited don't overstay your welcome.

(18) Treat people exactly the way they deserve.

(19) Except they owe you money, two call attempts is enough. If they value you they will call you back.

(20) Be good at what you do. Be the best.

I learnt something about HURRIED JUDGEMENT vs DELAYED JUDGEMENT weeks ago.

I learnt something about HURRIED JUDGEMENT vs DELAYED JUDGEMENT weeks ago.

A little girl was holding two apples with both hands. Her mum came and asked her little daughter with a smile; "Baby, could you give your mum one of your two apples? The girl looked up at her mum for some seconds, then she suddenly took a quick bite on one apple & then quickly a bite on the other apple.

The mum was disappointed & the smile on her face disappeared. Then the little girl handed one of her bitten apples to her mum & said "Mummy, take this one. This is the sweeter one."

From the mum's HURRIED JUDGEMENT, the little girl is either selfish or greedy.

No matter who you are, how experienced you are & how knowledgeable you think you are, always DELAY JUDGEMENT; Give others the privilege to explain themselves. What you see may not be the reality.

Never conclude for others. Which is why we should never only focus on the surface & judge others without understanding them first. Those who like to pay the bill, do so not because they are loaded but because they value friendship above money.

Those who take the initiative at work, do so not because they are stupid but because they understand the concept of responsibility. Those who apologize first after a fight or quarrel do so not because they are wrong but because they value the people around them.

Those who are willing to help you, do so not because they owe you any thing but because they see you as a true friend. Those who often text you, do so not because they have nothing better to do but because you are in their heart.

Those who take out time to chat with you, does not mean they are jobless or less busy, but they know the importance of keeping in touch. One day, all of us will get  separated  from each other; we will miss our conversations of everything & nothing; the dreams that we had.

HOW TO BE ALWAYS HAPPY IN LIFE.

Advice from Grandma

1. Always remember that there is nobody on this earth that does not have problems. You are not the only one that has problems.

2. Challenges is part of life. It is only a dead man that has no challenges.

3. There is no problem that has no solution. There are solutions to the pains you are passing through.

4. The way you picture yourself in your mind can affect your happiness. Picture yourself as a valuable and beautiful person. Avoid low self esteem and inferiority complex.

5. Do not mind about what people say about you. Some people are sadists. They can just say something's just to make you feel sad.

6. Make friends with reasonable people who make you happy. Do not make friends with people who make jest of you or laugh at you over your challenges.

7. At your leisure time, keep yourself busy with your favorite hobbies like reading , Learning, etc.

8. Do not allow anyone to intimidate you with money and material things. A poor man today can become rich tomorrow. Change is constant.

6 TERRIBLE DECISIONS THAT YOU CAN EVER MAKE IN LIFE!

6 TERRIBLE DECISIONS THAT YOU CAN EVER MAKE IN LIFE!

1. Giving up on your dreams: If you give up on what you truly wanted to achieve, you may end up living with regret and wondering what could have been.

2. Staying in a toxic relationship: Staying in a relationship that is emotionally or physically abusive can have long-lasting negative effects on your mental health and well-being.

3. Neglecting your health: Failing to take care of your physical and mental health can lead to chronic illnesses and other complications.

4. Burning bridges: Cutting off people from your life without properly addressing issues or attempting to resolve conflicts can ultimately lead to a sense of loneliness and isolation.

5. Not pursuing education or personal growth opportunities: Refusing to learn new things or develop new skills can limit your potential and hinder career growth.

6. Living beyond your means: Spending excessively and not managing finances wisely can lead to debt and financial instability, creating unnecessary stress and hardship.

Remember, every decision you make has the potential to impact your life in significant ways, so it's essential to carefully consider and evaluate your options before making a choice.

5 THINGS THAT CAN KILL YOUR DREAM

5 THINGS THAT CAN KILL YOUR DREAM

1. Fear: Fear is one of the most significant obstacles that can stop people from pursuing their dreams. Fear of failure, fear of the unknown, fear of rejection, fear of what others might think - all these fears can hold you back and prevent you from taking risks or stepping out of your comfort zone.

2. Lack of focus: If you don't have a clear idea of what you want to achieve, it's difficult to work towards that goal. Without a specific target in mind, you might find yourself wandering aimlessly and lacking the drive to take action.

3. Negative self-talk: The way you talk to yourself can have a profound impact on your ability to pursue your dreams. If you're constantly telling yourself that you're not good enough, or that you'll never make it, you're likely to lose motivation and give up on your aspirations.

4. Lack of perseverance: Achieving your dreams often requires hard work, dedication, and perseverance. If you give up too easily when faced with setbacks or obstacles, you may struggle to make progress towards your goals.

5. Lack of support: Having a strong support system can make a big difference in your ability to achieve your dreams. Surrounding yourself with people who encourage and believe in you can give you the confidence and motivation to keep working towards your goals, even when things get tough.

ADVICE TO ALL EMPLOYEES

 ADVICE TO ALL EMPLOYEES

1. Build a home earlier. Be it rural home or urban home. Building a house at 50 is not an achievement. Don't get used to government houses. This comfort is so dangerous. Let all your family have good time in your house.

2. Go home. Don't stick at work all the year.  You are not the pillar of your department.  If you drop dead today, you will be replaced immediately and operations will continue.  Make your family a priority.

3. Don't chase promotions.  Master your skills and be excellent at what you do. If they want to promote you, that's fine if they don't,  stay positive to your personal.

development.

4. Avoid office or work gossip. Avoid things that tarnish your name or reputation. Don't join the bandwagon that backbites  your bosses and colleagues. Stay away from negative gatherings that have only people as their agenda.

5. Don't ever compete with your bosses.  You will burn your fingers.  Don't compete with your colleagues, you will fry your brain.

6. Ensure you have a side business.  Your salary will not sustain your needs in the long run.

7. Save some money. Let it be deducted automatically from your payslip.

8. Borrow a loan to invest in a business or to change a situation not to buy luxury. Buy luxury from your profit.

9. Keep your life, marriage and family private. Let them stay away from your work. This is very important.

10. Be loyal to yourself  and believe in your work. Hanging around your boss will alienate you from your colleagues and  your boss may finally dump you when he leaves.

11. Retire early.  The best way to plan for your exit was when you received the employment letter. The other best time is today.  By 40 to 50 be out.

12. Join work welfare and be an active member always. It will help you a lot when  any eventuality occurs.

13.Take leave days utilize them by developing yr future home or projects..usually what you do during yr leave days is a reflection of how you'll live after retirement..If it means you spend it all holding a remote control watching series on Zee world, expect nothing different after retirement.

14. Start a project whilst still serving or working. Let your project run whilst at work and if it doesn't do well, start another one till it's running viably. When your project is viably running then retire to manage your business. Most people or pensioners fail in life because they retire to start a project instead of retiring to run a project.

15. Pension money is not for starting a project or buy a stand or build a house but it's money for your upkeep or to maintain yourself in good health. Pension money is not for paying school fees or marrying a young wife but to look after yourself.

16. Always remember, when you retire never be a case study for living a miserable life after retirement but be a role model for colleagues to think of retiring too.

17. Don't retire just because you are finished or you are now a burden to the company and just wait for your day to die. Retire young or whilst energetic to enjoy waking up for a cup of coffee, enjoy the sun, receive money from your business, visit nice place that you missed and spend good time with family. Those who retire late, spend about 95% of their time at work than with their family and that's why they see it difficult to spend time with their family when they retire but end looking for another job till they die. If they don't get another job, they die early.

18. Retire at your house than at government accommodation so that when you retire you can easily fit into the society that raised you. It's not easy to adjust to live in a location after spending more years at company house or at government house.

19. Never let your employment benefits make you forget about your retirement. Employment benefits are just meant to make you relax, get finished whilst time is moving. Remember when you retire no one will call you boss if you don't have a viable business.

20. Don't hate to retire because one day you will retire either voluntarily or involuntarily.

Hope this will help you look at life positively

1. Window of opportunity

Fear makes us lose small opportunities. You must learn to run towards your fears.

Do the things that make you uncomfortable. Visit the places that scare you. Talk to people, even if you fear them. Make friends.

2. Nothing fails like success

The more you stop doing what took you up to the number one position, that is the moment you crumble.

Organizations that remain successful are humble, efficient, play faster, devoted, and add value to their clients.

3. Be a rock star at work

Be passionate about what you do. Work puts meaning into our lives.

Working hard makes you a gift to yourself and the organization. You will be happier and richer and live a fulfilling life.

4. Your days define your life

You create your future by what you do today. Nothing is small.

The smallest choices you make now have consequences.

5. Be a Lifetime Learner

A leader who reads profusely will encounter situations in which he may rely on the experience gained from a book to solve such problems.

Reading remains the best discipline anyone can cultivate.

6. Get some skin in the game

Albert Einstein describes insanity as doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting the same result.

You must learn to take risks in life to avoid staying in one position. Taking more risks in pursuing your dreams is rewarding.

7. Make time to think

“Five percent of the people think; ten percent of the people think they think; and the other eighty-five percent would rather die than think”

–Thomas A. Edison

8. Leadership begins on the extra mile

The greatness guide teaches that leadership and success begin with the extra mile.

Ordinary people do not spend time on the extra mile.

Who says you are ordinary?

9. Reference point

Ultimately, success is about consistency in what you do.

You should pick positive reference points that will help you see alternative ways of doing things.

10. Life Lessons

Be the eternal optimist — get more joy from life and see the best in every situation

Value people — put people first, respect your friends. They will never fail you.

Be Decisive!

10 Leadership Lessons from" The Leader in you"-Dale Carnegie

10 Leadership Lessons from" The Leader in you"-Dale Carnegie

1. Talk less, listen more.

People will pay attention to what you say, just because of your position. The leader’s job is to pay attention to what other people say, especially those who think their views don’t count. Show you’re listening by acting on what people tell you, and gain their trust by giving them the credit.

2. Don’t step in with solutions too quickly.

No-one learns anything new if you keep doing what you already know how to do, and don’t allow others to try. Anyway, they may find a different, or better way, and if not… mistakes are valuable too.

3. Be authentic.

Be authentic, passionate, even emotional, about what you believe in. Share your vision and live your values. The personal is more engaging, even inspiring, than the process.

4. Don’t ‘dis’ downwards.

Once a decision is made by the Board, or the leadership team, it’s yours even if you argued against it during discussions. Your job as leader is to get others to believe in, and work towards, a shared goal, not to divide opinion or loyalties.

5. I’m OK: You’re OK.

Start from the position that everyone is doing the best they can, then look for ways to support and encourage them – which is so much more rewarding than finding fault.

6. Don’t be the smartest person in the room.

Being a leader does not mean knowing more than anyone else. Recognise, encourage and promote others as experts. Give them the trust and autonomy to be creative and do excellent work, defined in their terms. You simply provide the direction, so that this excellent work contributes to a shared purpose.

Follow Evans Mozurunyem Ministries for action-provoking posts every morning!

7. Sense of purpose.

Your team know what they do and how to do it, but you can make a big difference by sharing a strong sense of why they’re doing it and where it’s heading. Help them develop a broad understanding of the team’s purpose, and faith in how their role contributes to the whole. (Remember the floor-sweeper at NASA?)

8. Being right isn’t enough.

A great idea is of no consequence unless you can convince others to believe it too, and then persuade them to help you make your idea a reality. The best way to do this is to make the idea theirs.

9. Focus on a few things.

Focusing on the things that really matter and where you can make a difference. There may be a hundred different distractions and demands on your time and a hundred ways you could respond, but it’s the dozen carefully chosen actions that deliver the results.

10. Get out and about.

Get out and about and in the work. It’s hard to retain that sense of what the job’s really about when you are sitting

10 Important Lessons from book -"RULES for MY UNBORN SON"

10 Important Lessons from book -"RULES for MY UNBORN SON"

1)Self-discipline

Knowing how to work hard is just as important as working hard. Keeping yourself motivated when things are easy is one thing, but keeping yourself motivated when things are bad is another beast. Regardless of the situation, you must have the willpower to push through. Showing that you can do this will not only motivate those around you, it will make you a stronger man.

2)Take responsibility

In short step-up. Men take responsibility for their actions and don’t need others to tell them when or how to do so. Being responsible for one’s choices and actions isn’t always the easiest thing in the world. However, true manhood is being able to admit when they are wrong.

3)Choose your battles wisely.

It’s important to know which ones are worth fighting and which ones are better left as is. It’s okay to be quiet and walk away. It doesn’t make you less of a man.

4)Be a gentleman

Having old school values is okay. Treating women with respect is even more than okay.

-Hold the door

-Offer your seat.

-Push her chair up to the table.

-Watch your language

NB: Follow Brimedge College for parental tips and child education articles

5)Be honest with yourself and everyone else.

Men who are honest are comfortable in themselves. “An honest man has an honorable manhood, which is something that every man should consider to succeed in life.”

6)Humility

Confidence is important but so is being humble. Men have to learn how to balance the two. Being able to do creates a strong and effective leader, which should be the goal for every man.

7)Giving to others rather than receiving.

Men who exemplify manhood see a need, and take the necessary steps to remedy that need. Filling a void and helping others, gives you a greater sense of joy than seeing what others can do for you.

8)Manners

Men (especially fathers) are portrayed as disgusting pigs (ala Al Bundy), but that’s not all men. Manners are important every second of the day, in every situation. Whether you are at home eating at your dinner table or eating in a five-star restaurant. Manners define people, and it separates us in terms of class and sophistication. Having manners and using them, also means that you are showing others around you respect.

Follow Evans Mozurunyem Ministries for action-provoking posts every morning!

9)Be open.

It’s okay to show feelings and to be sensitive. Toxic masculinity is a thing. To deny it exists is foolish. It’s not hard to find, and I could list several examples. In order to combat it, we have to teach our sons that it’s okay be vulnerable. It’s okay to show compassion to others. It’s a wonderful quality that all leaders have, which is why they are loved and respected by others.

10)The first shall be last.

This is a quote I read on Facebook a year ago and typed into my phone as a reminder.

True manhood puts others first. If you want to be a leader, then the place to be is on your knees, with a towel in your hand, washing someone’s feet.

5 COMMON REASONS THAT PEOPLE HAVE TROUBLE IDENTIFYING THEIR DREAM

5 COMMON REASONS THAT PEOPLE HAVE TROUBLE  IDENTIFYING THEIR DREAM

1. Discouragement from other people: Many people have had their dreams knocked out of them. the world is filled with dreams crushers and idea killers. Some people who aren't pursuing any dream of their own don't like to see others pursuing theirs. other people's success makes them feel inadequate or insecure.

2. Some people are hindered by past disappointments and hurts: Disappointment is the gap that exists between expectation and reality. all of us have encountered that gap. we've had an unexpectedly bad experience. we've had to live with our unfulfilled desires and we've had our hope dashed. Disappointment can be highly damaging to us.

3. Some people get in the habit of setting for the habit of average: Columnist Maureen Dowd says, "The minutes you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settled for". Dreams require a person to stretch, to go beyond average. You can't reach for a dream and remain safety mediocre at the same time. The two are incompatible.

4. Some people lack the confidence needed to pursue their dreams: It takes confidence to talk about your dream and more to pursue it. and sometimes confidence separates the people who dream and pursue those dreams from those who don't.

5. Some people lack the imagination to dream: How do people discover their dream? by dreaming! That may sound overly simplistic, but that's where it starts. Imagination is the soil that brings a dream to life. Nobel prize-winning physicist Albert Einstein, a dreamer, and thinker understands the value of the imagination. He said, "When I examine myself and my method of thought, I come to the conclusion that the gift of fantasy has meant more to me than my talent for absorbing positive knowledge". Einstein called his imagination a "holy curiosity"

-JOHN C. MAXWELL

Top 5 Lessons learned from book -" BELIEVE YOU CAN "

Top 5 Lessons learned from book -" BELIEVE YOU CAN "

1. If Youre Not You, Then Who Are You Going to Be?

Be yourself. Think about it: Arent most of the discontented people you know trying to be someone they arent or trying to do something theyre not supposed to do? A Congolese proverb asserts, Wood may remain ten years in the water, but it will never become a crocodile. Nobody is as disappointed and unhappy as the person who spends her life longing to be somebody else..

2. Dont Build a Case Against Yourself

Stewart Johnson commented, Our business in life is not to get ahead of others, but to get ahead of ourselvesto break our own records, to outstrip our yesterday by our today, to do our work with more force than ever before. Stop looking only at where you are and start looking at what you can be. If you doubt yourself, listen to Alexandre Dumas: A person who doubts himself is like a man who enlists in the ranks of his enemy and bears arms against himself. Tim Redmond cautions, Dont commit treason against your own life and purpose.

3. Thomas Edison Was Afraid of the Dark

Yes! Edison was afraid of the darkyet he overcame that obstacle in a big way and invented the light bulb. The door to opportunity swings on the hinges of adversity. Problems are the price of progress. The obstacles of life are intended to make us better, not bitter. Adversity has advantages. Dont let your problems take the leadyou take it. The difficulty you face is simply an opportunity for you to do your best.

4. You Can Only Live Today

Seize the moment! Opportunities are constantly either coming to you or by you. Today was once the future from which you expected so much in the past. Horatio Dresser said, The ideal never comes. Today is ideal for him who makes it so. Live for today. Dont let what you have within your grasp today be lost entirely because the future intrigues you and the past disheartens you.

5. Be a Little Kinder Than You Have to Be

Serving others is one of lifes most awesome privileges. Hunt for the good points in people. Remember, they have to do the same in your case. Then do something to help them. If you want to get ahead, be a bridge instead of a wall. Love others more than they deserve. Albert Schweitzer said, The only ones among you who will really be happy are those who have sought and found how to serve. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin commented, The most satisfying thing in life is to have been able to give a large part of oneself to others.

𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝟏𝟐 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 "𝐑𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤"

1. Mistakes and Learning

- Learning from your success will always tell you what to do next. Therefore, it is important to understand that failure is not a prerequisite to success.

- When you learn from your mistakes, you learn what NOT to do.

2. Don’t let the past drive the future

- You have to learn to go in new directions because that is what is suitable today.

-  If you break your tasks into smaller ones, you are much more likely to be accurately compared to estimating something big.

3. Premature Growth means death

- See what feels right, small companies wish they were big, and big companies wish they were more agile.

- Premature growth is a dead point, don’t grow for the sake of growing.

4. Don’t be a Workaholic

- Workaholics create more problems than they solve. If you always work hard, you don’t know what are considered to be real problems.

- Work hard when required, not always — you will burn out.

5. Let your customers miss you

- You want your customers to feel that if you stop doing what you do, they will feel something is missing.

-Build stuff you want to use. When you solve your own problem, you know how to solve it.

6. Don’t be a hypocrite, and stay in control!

- Don’t be a hypocrite like these companies who say they are sorry to keep you waiting but still put you on hold for hours!

- That thinking a robot is showing “genuine affection” is silly.

7. Worry about the necessities.

- Whatever you decide to do, ask yourself if it adds value. Value is about balance, will your “change” actually do anything?

- Don’t add unless it really impacts your product, and avoid throwing good time at bad work!

8. Work smart, and avoid interruptions!

- Some people work hours through the night when there is little or no interruption.

- You need to focus for long periods of time.

9. Meetings, the right way…

- Meetings generally are so vague they never have a goal.

- Create a “JUDO” approach. This is when you find a simple solution to a complex problem, even if it is not perfect.

10. Small victories

- Accomplish small victories along the way. When you start small, get feedback instantly, and keep this process up until you go big.

- You can manage small victories by prioritizing.

11. Creativity

- Be creative, and make the product about you.

- Do not copy anyone. Focus on injecting what is unique about you into your product.

12. Take responsibility

-There are always people who will call you out on your flaws. Hold your hands up straight away.

- The highest person ranked should take responsibility and promptly address the issue.

You can't improve if you don't know what you're doing wrong.

• Make time for stillness

• Master your mind

• Practice decision-making skills

SEE HOW OVERTHINKING IS KILLING YOU..

SEE HOW OVERTHINKING IS KILLING YOU...

Overthinking means to think too much about (something): to put too much time into thinking about or analyzing (something) in a way that is more harmful than helpful.

Overthinkers may have trouble distinguishing between the fear of making a mistake, which leads to overthinking to the point where they make no decision, and a deep feeling that something is wrong.

Knowing if fear or intuition is guiding your behavior will help you get out of your head and take the next necessary steps.

SIGNS THAT YOU OVERTHINK

▶️Difficulty following along with and contributing to a conversation because you go over potential responses or statements time and again until the conversation has either ended or the window of opportunity for speaking was lost

▶️Continually comparing yourself to the people around you and how you measure up to them

▶️Focusing on worst-case scenarios either involving yourself or the ones you love

▶️Reliving past failures or mistakes over and over again and you're unable to move past them

▶️Worrying about future tasks and/or goals until they feel almost impossible to accomplish

▶️Reliving a past traumatic experience (such as abuse or the loss of a loved one) leaving you unable to cope with it

▶️An inability to slow down the racing of vague thoughts, worries or emotions

HOW TO OVERCOME OVERTHINKING

➡️Don't think of what can go wrong, but what can go right.

➡️Distract yourself into happiness. Meditate of positive outcome.

Don’t forget to follow

Let's all be masters of our mouths so that we won't be slaves of our words.'

Once upon a time an old man spread rumors that his neighbor was a thief.

As a result, the young man was arrested. Days later the young man was

proven innocent. After been released he sued the old man for wrongly

accusing him.

In court the old man told the Judge: 'They were just comments, didn't

harm anyone..'

The judge, before passing sentence on the case, told the old man: 'Write

all the things you said about him on a piece of paper. Cut them up and

on the way home, throw the pieces of paper out. Tomorrow, come back to

hear the sentence.'

The next day, the judge told the old man: 'Before receiving the

sentence, you will have to go out and gather all the pieces of paper

that you threw out yesterday.'

The old man said: 'I can't do that! The wind spread them and I won't

know where to find them.'

The judge then replied: 'The same way, simple comments may destroy the

honor of a man to such an extent that one is not able to fix it.

#Moral_of_the_story

"If you can't speak well of someone, rather don't say anything"

'Let's all be masters of our mouths so that we won't be slaves of our words.'

Top 6 lessons learned from the book- DO IT TODAY

Top 6 lessons learned from the book- DO IT TODAY

1. STOP LOOKING FOR SHORTCUT, AND DO THE WORK.

Building a business or career is hard. It requires you to do difficult, tedious, and unsatisfying tasks. If you want more clients or work, no one is going to hand it to you. You have to hustle. Do content marketing, one-on-one sales, network, or whatever method you use to grow your business.

And if you want to climb the corporate ladder, you have to form alliances, be strategic, outperform your targets, and be great at what you do.

Thats what you SHOULD do, right? Most of us already know these things. Or, you will find out about it. Theres no such thing as a secret to succeeding at work.

2. ELIMINATE. ELIMINATE. ELIMINATE

Elimination is a key strategy that I use for many aspects of my life. We accumulate so much unnecessary baggage throughout the years that we consistently need to eliminate. If you find yourself struggling to focus, try this strategy. Make your life so simple that its a breeze to live. And lets be honest here. Who wants to live a life thats impossible? Life is already hard enough. Dont make it harder.

3. WILLPOWER DOESNT WORK. SYSTEMS DO.

What you really need is a system for doing work. A lot of people shy away from routines, systems and frameworks because they want to have freedom. Im sorry to disappoint you: Freedom is your enemy. The fact is that, if you want to get things done, you need rules.

If you combine the right productivity tactics, you have a productivity system. The deadlines create urgency, accountability will create responsibility, working in intervals improves your focus, exercising will give you more energy, so does a healthy diet, and eliminating distractions will take away the temptations.

4. DISCONNECT FROM THE INTERNET.

And theres only one reason to do that: Too

much of anything is a bad thing. Even good

things. Too much exercise? You will get

overtrained.

Too much love? You will smother people. Too much work? You will burn out. Too much food? You will get fat. Too much water? You will die.

So why do you consume so much internet?

5. MANAGE YOUR ATTENTION

Focus determines the quality of your life. No

focus means no control of your attention.

And no control means frustration. We all know what frustration leads to. Start managing your attention. Not your time.

6. REST.

You recharge your phone when it runs out of

juice. You refill your gas tank when youre

running on empty. But sometimes, you

forget to do the same for your most

precious possession: Your body (and the

brain thats inside of it).

1. Negotiation has new rules. It's not about bullying or beating the other side into submission.

Negotiation begins when the other side feels accepted and understood.

2. Listen intently to gather information and make the other side feel understood.

The more understood they feel, the more likely they will reveal important information.

3. Repeat the last critical 3 words the other side said, followed by a pause, to keep them talking.

A technique known as 'mirroring.'

4. Direct and assertive tones create defensiveness.

Keep your voice soft and slow or positive and playful.

5. Help the other side overcome their emotional obstacles by labeling them.

For example, "It seems you're unhappy with our proposal."

By giving their emotions a name, you call attention to them and make them feel validated.

6. Labelling negative emotions helps people calm down when angry.

They're less likely to continue acting on negative emotions once they are made aware of them. Always acknowledge the negative to diffuse it.

7. Saying 'no' makes people feel safe, secure, and in control.

Get them to say no by reframing your questions. "Do you have a few minutes to talk?" becomes "Is now a good time to talk?"

8. "That's right" creates breakthroughs.

"Yes" can be a smokescreen where the other side doesn't feel comfortable saying no. Summarize everything the other party has said to get a "that's right."

9. Anchor their emotions on their fears.

Make the other side aware of what they must lose if the deal falls through. By preparing them for a loss, they will likely work with you to avoid it.

10. Use "what" and "how" questions to give the other side the illusion of control.

They get them working on the problem while feeling like they are in charge.
