Some Universal Truths of Life, That I Have Learnt So Far.

Some Universal Truths of Life, That I Have Learnt So Far.

1. Nothing lasts forever. All we have is what happens between hello and goodbye.

2. A few people care. The rest are curious.

3. Most friendships are shallow.

4. Everybody is prejudiced up to a certain point.

5. Our society is advancing but not in a straight line.

6. False words are not only evil in themselves, but they infect the soul with evil.

7. Common sense is not very common.

8. Common sense does not work in everything because you will ignore everything that contradicts your world view.

9. Markets don’t care about fairness. Fairness is a constraint to profit seeking.

10. Many things that are fair, are not profitable or rational.

11. The rich use fear and greed to make money from people and become more powerful. They threaten you with scarcity of supply to make you act quick due to fear, and they offer you some discount to make you buy more due to your greed.

12. The past is not necessarily a guide to the future, but it does partly help explain the present.

13. Care about real friends and family.

14. Your health is your wealth.

15. Our society is gradually becoming more shallow.

16. People speak the truth when they are drunk.

17. Don’t always be attracted to the most charismatic people in relationships and business. Often the stars that burn brightest at first fail you.

18. Have a mix between being too cynical and too naive. Have a process. Read the evidence and make up your mind.

19. You must not be out of debt before you start investing. The 70-20-10 financial rule states that: 70 percent of your after-tax income should go toward basic monthly expenses like housing, utilities, food, transportation, and personal living expenses; 20 percent should be saved or put into investments, leaving 10 percent for debt repayment.

20. Reading is one of the best investments you can make.
