DON’T DO THIS!!!
HERE ARE 4 TOXIC HABITS THAT STOICS SPOKE AGAINST…
1. DO NOT BE OVERHEARD COMPLAINING EVEN TO YOURSELF” - Marcus Aurelius
Don’t be overheard even complaining to yourself. That’s is toxic and it show little to no sign of gratitude.
Gratitude is the first step to altitude. How high you want to go is co-related to how much joy you find in the little things that matter in the present than the anxiety that awaits in the future.
STAY GRATEFUL AND YOUR LIFE WILL BE HAPPY.
2. DON’T POINT ON AIRS ABOUT YOUR SELF IMPROVEMENT-DON’T TALK ABOUT IT, BE ABOUT IT” EPICTETUS
Don’t talk about what you want to do, don’t say what you want to do, just do the work and the results will air themselves. Many times, especially in our microwaved generations, we are so moved by onstage gratification, and the finer things of life that we want everyone to see us progress. And when they don’t recognize it, then it stings so bad like a hornet 🐝.
As Dave Ramsey will say in the Total Money Makeover “ We buy things we don’t like, with money we don’t have to impress people we don’t like”.
Use your years wisely.
3. DON’T OVER INDULGE INTO TOO MUCH EATING OR DRINKING - MINUCIUS RUFUS
I have learned a lot of lesson but being a glutton is one that will forever be remembered due to a strong warning my late mother gave me, about a kid who got poison due to his over indulgence in gluttony. Gluttony kills more than the sword. Always needing more and more, and very soon we become perils of our own self desires.
It cuts across a lot more other things, like money, material things and a lot more. Have a boundary, simply put.
4. WE HAVE TWO EARS AND ONE MOUTH, THEREFORE WE SHOULD LISTEN TWICE AS MUCH AS WE SPEAK. - ZENO
Don’t speak more than you listen. You have to listen and not for the full purpose of speaking. Speak when you should but listen more.
Tone things out, put your energy in concern more in to listening instead of being a talker, but sometimes you talk your way to your downfall and just because you know it all doesn’t mean by you know it all.
